Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding a piano hidden within her attic, then becoming fascinated with the sounds it created. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music, not for the purpose of a career or as an interest, but in order to grow. Therefore, she created with her own music. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. Her mother urged her to play her music on stage, not in order to achieve fame, but rather to assist others in understanding how valuable the music they compose and what they can do for the world. She began playing the piano at the age of six, and began making music at the age of nine. Her family didn't know about it until she reached fourteen. She never had a desire to turn into Aurora. The singer claims that she is a fan of making music. Music is her favourite way of feeling anything.
